FAQ – APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Course

Does the APhA Pharmacy-Based Delivery course meet the requirements outlined by the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP) to provide immunizations?

Can I enroll in the course if I am not a licensed pharmacist in Florida?

Yes. The FBOP will require you to take the course again once you are licensed in Florida.


If I completed this course as a pharmacy intern do I need to take it again once I am licensed in Florida to practice?

This is a FBOP requirement. You can contact the FBOP with any questions regarding this requirement.


How do I access the APhA enrollment code?

A confirmation email was sent to the email address you used to register. It contains an attachment that includes the enrollment code and instructions to access the APhA website to complete the required 12 hours of home-study pre-coursework. Contact us if you haven’t received it.


When can I redeem the enrollment code?

Immediately, if desired. Be sure to review our refund policy prior to using the enrollment code with APhA.


Does the 12-hours of home-study coursework need to be completed before attending the live, in-person session?

Yes, the 12 hours of coursework preps you to be able to pass the self-study exam. Participants must pass the self-study exam to remain eligible to receive the certificate.


How many opportunities do I have to pass the self-study exam?

You have two opportunities to pass the self-study exam.


What happens if I do not pass the self-study exam?

If you do not pass the exam on the second attempt you will need to complete the full program again at another time per APhA. You can attend the live program, however, you will not receive the live credit.


Do I need to complete the Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to attending the live course?

No. This certification must be completed before applying to the Florida Board of Pharmacy to provide immunization services.

What is the course attire?

Business casual. We recommend that you bring a sweater or jacket in the event that the room is cooler than you prefer.

During the program you will be giving and receiving one subcutaneous injection and two intramuscular injections. We recommend wearing clothing that you are comfortable folding your sleeves up. Dresses are not recommended.


What does time is check-in?

7:30am. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.


What time does the course start?

8:00am


Will lunch be provided?

Yes. Please contact us with any dietary restrictions.


What time will the course be dismissed?

This is dependent upon the class size and the time it takes for the facilitators to complete the skills assessment check-off. The course usually adjourns between 5:00 – 6:00pm.


What is the attendance code?

You will receive an attendance code upon successful completion of the skills portion of the course work. This code can only be entered after the self-study assessment has been completed and after successful completion of the live course.  It expires 28 days after the seminar if not redeemed.


When will my credit be reported?
