Summary
Residential care facilities vary widely in purpose from long term care facilities for the aged, to psychiatric centers, to rehab facilities, to the prison system. All of these types of patient care arenas have specific needs based on population and most common therapeutic needs upon which the focus most of their effort. With this in mind often the treatment of infectious diseases is complicated by these environments and lack of specialization by the primary care providers in those arenas. Pharmacists can provide guidance in these situations to help fill the knowledge gap and help provide the care of patients in these settings.
This course is approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy for 4.0 contact hours to meet requirements pursuant to CHAPTER 64B16-26, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.300, Florida Administrative Code.
