Summary
This program will provide pharmacists with the tools to use pharmacogenetics in psychiatric care. An overview of relevant medications supported by a high level of evidence will be provided, including primary literature and published clinical pharmacogenetic guideline recommendations. Attendees will gain practice applying pharmacogenetics to several patient cases resembling real-world scenarios.
This course is approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy for 1.0 live general hours to meet pharmacist renewal requirements outlined in Rule 64B16-26.103.
Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Apply clinical pharmacogenetic guideline recommendations for CYP2D6 and CYP2C19 to antidepressant prescribing.
- Describe how other clinical factors influence the application of pharmacogenetics in psychiatry.
Requirements for Successful Course Completion
In order to earn credit for this course, participants must attend the webinar live. Additionally, within 15 days of attending the webinar, participants must complete a course evaluation form.
