We are pleased to announce this new opportunity to complete this live program fully online Saturday, May 30th.
The May APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Program will be made available to you via a streaming service using Zoom Video Conferencing. The program agenda will remain the same with the exception of the Skills Training and Assessment portion. Registration and check-in will be from 7:30am with the lectures beginning promptly at 8:00am on Saturday, May 30th. The lecture portion of the training is tentatively scheduled to end at 3:30pm; however, this timeframe can vary due to the interaction between the lecturers and the student interactions.
About the Skills Training and Assessment
Participants will still be required to complete the Skills Training and Assessment portion of the training. This assessment is the proper demonstration of administering a sterile injection into a person and must be completed to pass the program and receive the certificate of completion. This portion of the training will be completed remotely and under the supervision of a certified immunizer. The certified immunizer can be someone from within your organization, a colleague or a friend who is licensed and certified to administer injections. This person will be required to provide the APhA with his/her license number and other identifying information to prove certification. The details of what will be required are still being finalized and APhA.
The injection assessment must be completed on a live person and this person will need to sign-off that he/she received the sterile injection. The person receiving the injection does not need to be a pharmacist – only a willing participant. To prove you properly completed the injection you, the certified immunizer, and the injectee must complete a 1-page form (similar to the one attached) and submit it to our office for you to receive the attendance code. This code will give you access to complete the online live seminar evaluation, live seminar assessment, and to claim your credit for the live seminar. The APhA is finalizing the details to submit this information and we will follow-up as soon as we have that final information.
